# Merit-Book

> Merit-Book is a private career record that writes your CV, cover letter, interview prep, self-assessment and promotion case from the evidence in that record, checked twice before you see it: once as the screening software that reads it first, once as the hiring manager who decides on an interview. Built in Sweden, hosted in the EU. Your data is never used to train AI models, not by us and not by our AI provider.

## What it does

- You upload one CV, once. Merit-Book turns it into an inventory of roles, projects, decisions and results, each traceable to where it came from. Volunteering and hobbies are kept too.
- Every month it asks three questions (what you finished, what was hard, what changed) so the record stays current while you still remember the numbers.
- When you need a document, it is written only from that record: a CV and cover letter tailored to one job ad, company and country; the questions you are likely to be asked in the interview and the ones worth asking; a self-assessment, promotion case or 1:1 preparation for any period.
- Every line in a generated document cites an entry in your record. Nothing is invented. When a role asks for something the record does not show, Merit-Book asks you instead of making it up.

## How it works

- Writes only from your record, in the language of the job posting and the conventions of the country.
- Researches the company and the posting before writing.
- Reads its own draft back twice, as an applicant tracking system and as a hiring manager, and only shows a draft that passes both.
- Removes AI tells and clichés; keeps your wording.
- Learns how you want your CVs: tell it once, every future document follows.
- Nothing is a template: sections, order, length and wording are decided for your profession, the role and the business.

## Why it exists

People forget what they did. Six months after a project the number is gone, and with it the strongest line of the next CV and the best argument in the next review. Managers hit the same wall when they build a promotion case for someone. Merit-Book captures the evidence while it exists and does the expensive writing from it, so one record replaces the two or three CVs people keep patching from memory.

## Who it is for

Professionals with an application, a performance review or a promotion discussion coming up, who want documents built from what they actually did rather than from a blank page.

## Privacy and compliance

- Private by default: the record is not a profile and not a network. Nothing is published or shared with employers.
- Your content is never used to train AI models. Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from training on it.
- Data is stored on Google Cloud in the European Union. Drafting sends the relevant parts of your record to OpenAI in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Exported documents carry a machine-readable note that they were prepared with AI assistance, in line with Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act.
